Electric Bass, Washtub Bass
It was a rock 'n roll Enya sort of day on the eve of the year 1256. A record heatwave was vacationing off the south coast of Africa while a rather stylish bunch of rabid kangaroos were staging a coux on the then thought tropical territories later to be known as Alaska. Although hard to believe, this was all taking place in a rusty snowglobe purchased by Stephen's aunt the last time she travelled through the Grand Canyon. What this has to do with him however, we have absolutely no idea!?!
Stephen in a {wal}Nutshell
Although we're not completely sure, we think that Stephen came to us from the land of the sky blue waters. He enthusiastically took upon the challenge of learning the one-five bass run and hasn't looked back since. Afterall, how hard can playing two notes be? From 1995 to 1997, Stephen was the guitarist and backup vocalist for the never-to-be-famous coffehouse-jazz band Dysfunctional Yogurt. Today he writes original folk-rock tunes and, when not performing with Gertrude's Hearse, can occassionally be found singing and strumming at some of the more intimate venues in the valley.
