Raymond John was born sometime between 1970 and 1980 to unknown parents west of the Mississippi river. He was self-raised on the streets of the United States of America, often gaining a penny following panhandler and vaudeville jug bands from town to town, changing strings, tuning bottles, and occasionally taking a hitch with the circus.

    yusuf@gertrudeshearse.com

Yusuf Kilgore gave up tap dancing in the late 1980's to pursue a career in professional watersports. Being much too tall for Velodrome bicycling he gained a great appreciation not only for various filled bakery items but also for can collecting. Over the next several years he developed a great sense of cans, primarily those in the cylindrical shape. When the can craze of the early 90's died off to all but a gleam in his father's eye, he shored up on the porch of a promising new Alabaster Stone Works factory.

  • Tim Daniels
Electric Bass, Keyboards, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar

    tim@gertrudeshearse.com

Tim Daniels crawled out of the sand on the beaches of San Diego back when his buddies were graduating high school. There was no surf that summer so he kept his mind busy with an acoustic guitar and 44 ouncers. Eventually the boardwalk politics ruled out this sort of riff-raff and sent him to the alleys of downtown, where he was taught meaningful song-craft and heartfelt guitar playing. The competition and prostitution was overwhelmingly exhausting so Tim hopped a freight car to the open blue skies of Taos, New Mexico and formed his band, The Distractions.

It was a rock 'n roll Enya sort of day on the eve of the year 1256. A record heatwave was vacationing off the south coast of Africa while a rather stylish bunch of rabid kangaroos were staging a coux on the then thought tropical territories later to be known as Alaska. Although hard to believe, this was all taking place in a rusty snowglobe purchased by Stephen's aunt the last time she travelled through the Grand Canyon. What this has to do with him however, we have absolutely no idea!?!

  • Craig Olson
Bass, electric & acoustic guitars, mandolin

    craig@craigolson.net

When not in his marching band, Craig Olson likes to lay tile & pipe, not to mention his odd tendencies toward competitive trampoline decorating and long walks off the beach, foreign films and his ecclectic cat collection. Most of all he is proud of his long and sordid history with the only bagpipe-playing dame to cross the Mississippi River by camel.
